Kellie’s career began in Australia at age 19, where, as a result of winning the Inaugural James Morrison Jazz Scholarship, she was catapulted to fame with national television appearances on every major network including a live to air performance with James Morrison.
The following year she landed her dream job - playing in the studio band of Australia’s longest running and most successful television variety show, Hey Hey it’s Saturday. Over the next eight years she backed artists including Tom Jones, Martin Taylor, Claire Martin, Ruby Turner, Thelma Houston, Eartha Kitt, Bozz Scaggs, Joe Jackson, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Ernie Watts, John Farnham, Tommy Emmanual, Ray Davies, Johnny Diesel, Marcia Hines, Larry Adler, Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes, James Morrison, Roger Daltrey and Randy Crawford.
